Carlo Bottaini <\/strong>is an archaeologist. He completed his PhD at the University of Coimbra (Portugal) in 2013. He is currently a Marie Curie Fellow at Queen’s University Belfast and a member of the HERCULES laboratory (University of Evora). Much of his research is concerned with exploring the dynamics of societal change in the later prehistory of Atlantic Europe and the Mediterranean through the analysis of material culture and technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dirk Brandherm<\/strong> is Reader in Prehistory and Archaeology at Queen’s University Belfast. Much of his current research is concerned with exploring the dynamics of societal change in the Chalcolithic and in the Bronze and Iron Ages of Western Europe and the Mediterranean. Through the use of scientific dating techniques he also works on refining the chronologies that inform our understanding of the processes underpinning these dynamics. His work also focuses on artefact studies, including the scientific analysis of archaeomaterials (primarily metal and ceramics).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nick Schiavon<\/strong> is currently Invited Research Associate Professor at the University of \u00c9vora (Portugal). Since 1988, he has been carrying out research and teaching activities in Geoscience\/Conservation Science as postdoctoral Research Associate and Lecturer at top level academic institutions across Europe (Cambridge University and UCL,UK, Universit\u00e8 Paris XII, France, University of Bologna, Palermo and Venice, Italy) and, since 2009, as a Senior Research Associate at the HERCULES Laboratory of Evora University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jos\u00e9 Mir\u00e3o<\/strong> holds a PhD in Geology (2004, Universidade de \u00c9vora, Portugal). He is Full Professor and Director of the HERCULES Laboratory. The scientific activity of Jose Mir\u00e3o focuses on the development of new analytical methodologies and their application, especially to materials of geological origin and patrimonial assets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
